What we do begins with your call.

WestCoast offers mental health services to children, youth and families with full-scope Alameda County Medi-Cal insurance. (Full-scope Medi-Cal refers to Medi-Cal without a share of cost or other insurance coverage.) These services include psychological testing, individual and family psychotherapy, Intensive Care Coordination (ICC) and case management. At the time of intake, we will verify your Medi-Cal eligibility. If you do not have Alameda County Medi-Cal you can call Alameda County ACCESS Behavioral Health at 1-800-491-9099.

Parents and caregivers, to make a referral or to inquire about our services, please contact our Intake and Referral telephone line by dialing (510) 269-9043. Our Intake and Referral line is confidential.

The first step in our intake process is to verify Medi-Cal eligibility. To verify Medi-Cal eligibility, please leave a message including:

• The child’s first and last name

• Child’s Date of Birth

• Child’s Social Security Number or Medi-Cal card number

• Your name and telephone number

Once we verify your Medi-Cal eligibility, you will receive a call from an Intake Clinician in which you will be asked to complete a 20 to 30 minute Intake Interview over the phone. An Intake Clinician will gather information about why you are interested in services, relevant history, and what services are requested. This call will help in identifying your current needs or concerns and how we can best serve you. The average length of time between your intake interview and your first appointment can vary dependent on our current wait list. Please call for updated information about our current estimated wait time for case assignment.

Please note: we are currently not accepting referrals for psychological assessments conducted in Spanish due to limited capacity; please check back in a few months.

Social workers and other providers, please submit this intake form by fax following instructions on the form (for privacy reasons do not email the form). Alternately, you may complete and submit the intake form electronically using this HIPAA-compliant online form.
